The Rewilding Delivery team specialises in evidence-based and proven techniques and are driven by nature-based solutions and rewilding principles. Detailed below are examples of recent projects and services, local and landscape-scale, that have been delivered by our team:
-
We can create bespoke habitat and land management for your site - no matter the size or location.
Informed by baseline surveys and drawing on over 60 years’ experience of advising on habitat creation and enhancement, we work with our clients to develop plans to support them to enhance and create new valuable habitats on their sites.
Using our specialist local knowledge and understanding of the wider landscape, we design plans that not only deliver exceptional value for the people, places and wildlife on site, but also contribute towards the wider, landscape-scale nature recovery network.
-
We work with a number of companies, including Toyota, BASF and Nestle, to improve the value of their factory sites for nature, both through the provision of ecological surveys and developing site management plans via our Nature Recovery Advice team and land management and habitat creation from our Wilder Delivery team. For example, working with BASF, at their industrial site in Alfreton, we have transformed a small, disused area of amenity grassland into a space worthy of local wildlife site accreditation, hosting an array of important plants and invertebrates, including the protected and rare dingy skipper butterfly.

At Wild Solutions we have our own herds of native breed Highland cattle and Exmoor ponies which deliver conservation grazing across the County as a paid for service.
Having our own large herbivores allows us to manage land in harmony with nature, delivering effective vegetation management in a low carbon, high nature way.
As well as eating the vegetation, effectively delivering mowing or scrub cutting work, our livestock can reduce nutrient levels in soils by metabolising plants into body mass, allowing finer grasses and wildflowers to flourish. Their droppings support many invertebrate species which are the building blocks of most food chains and increase organic matter content in soils, allowing more carbon to be sequestered and better overall soil health.
Our herds are well established, home bred and calm, well used to sites with high foot traffic or public access. Each species has its own unique way of eating different plants, bringing a diversity to land management that cannot be replicated with machinery and their day to day actions and interactions have myriad benefits for wildlife too whether they are grazing, browsing scrub species, rolling or exploring.
We breed our own cattle which ensures we have confidence in their temperament being calm and hardy enough to live outdoors all year round with little or no supplementary feeding.
Biosecurity is very important to us and we take it very seriously, ensuring we have healthy and happy animals that are disease free and that we meet all regulatory requirements for livestock movements and reporting.
We move our animals frequently from site to site, they are calm and docile to handle and load, travelling happily around to recreate the natural migratory behaviours large herbivores once had in our landscapes. All our animals are electric fence trained, allowing subtlety of movement restrictions to prevent damage to spring flowers or ground nesting birds.
We also use the innovative No Fence technology with our cattle, which allows virtual fence lines to be drawn as needed, reducing the need for hard infrastructure and giving a unique flexibility compared to commercial livestock. We also have portable handling facilities and can provide an independent clean water supply if none exists on your land.
